Am I Lazy or Just Practical, pt. 1

Around Valentine’s Day, the husband and I were browsing through canadian based lingerie retailer, La Senza. Not because we were shopping for anything in particular but because we still had 10 minutes before my appointment at the Apple Genius bar to fix my laptop with the whiskey drinking problem. Yes, we are THAT romantic.

I love lingerie, but it doesn’t like me. In particular I love bras. Mainly because they fit me. I’m not really fat around my boobs. I hate buying undies because my belly and butt – not saying I dislike them – but they just don’t like to work as easily as the boobs do. Though I did get a lovely matching set that I am quite proud of and funnily enough, Betty ended up with the same set from Don. Weird, yet awesome!

Mah new undies

Butt I digress. See what I did there with the word but? Anyway …

Back to the store where I’m browsing the bras and I come across some cute, very retro looking baby dolls. I like these because I can feel good in them and the right one can be cute. When I was trying to decide what we were going to buy, I almost bought one of them.

Then I thought to myself for a minute. “I’m NEVER going to wear this. Well maybe once, but then it gathers dust.”

I’m not a “Hold on while I change into something more comfortable.” kinda’ gal. I’m a bring a spare of matching undies, some honey dust and deodorant in my purse, to get ready for a date kinda’ woman. Not only do I dislike the idea of wearing something like that for a special occasion – I just can’t be bothered!

I’ve realized that I cannot justify spending the $49.50 on a piece of cotton designed to make me look sexier in the bedroom, only to be removed a few minutes later. (Though I did just spend $30 on a gorgeous white leather collar yesterday, but that’s a different story … at least it stays on and has functional purposes too.)

In this instance, I guess it’s both practicality and laziness that reign supreme. At least it’s guaranteed that I’ll save my energy for where it counts.

*Ok ok. There are times when I do like to dress up. Who doesn’t like some sexy stuff, tights, undies, heels … the whole deal every now and then??

  • I’m the same way. I just can’t spend money on expensive lingerie that never stays on more than a couple of minutes.

i dunno, i generally keep mine on for a good long time – usually up (or down) around my waist while being fucked :)

I buy & wear lingerie for photoshoots mostly so I guess I get to wear it a lot longer than it’s actual intended use! :p Other than that I have to agree…it gets pretty expensive for something you end up wearing for such little time :D
