Sadly, I don’t get booty calls anymore. Well, not including in-my-own-house calls; which totally count, but nothing of the external “Who the hell is calling at 3 am?” variety.

So what’s a girl to do? Well, I’m partial to sticking my boobs out, plumping up my lips and making sure I smell purty as a bumblebee’s behind. They say it’s milkshakes that bring all the boys to the yard, but I’m convinced that you can do it with other things, a wink and a smile.

Case in point: Ohhh Canada sent me some fun new products to try recently, both by Booty Parlour.

The first; Kissaholic Plumping Aphrodisiac Lip Gloss in Cherry-red.

This stuff made me happy instantly with its cinnamon hearts flavor (not to be worn in the morning for me though; bit too sweet). It felt good going on and then started to tingle. I’m a bit weirded out when things start to tingle on my lips, and let’s be honest, I don’t think I need anything on them to make them any *bigger*.

I think this stuff would be great for most, but in particular for those needing some extra cushion in their lip regions. It’s not just plumping that makes it great though; it’s nice and soft on the lips.

It comes in four flavors, and while cherry-red is my favorite color, I think I should have gone for Faint as the pomegranate-vanilla scent sounds to DIE for.

Next up is the Flirty Little Secret Pheremone Perfume, also by Booty Parlour.

Now I don’t know if I believe the hype about pheremones attracting others to us – though there is science behind it – I just wore the stuff because I liked that it’s a simple roll on with natural scents that made me feel warm and happy.

It’s not a smell that I could wear all the time, but I’m a woman of many tastes. I’m a “coconut in the morning” girl and “something more musky at night” lady, but I really loved this for evening wear. It’s made with made with cedar, plum, raspberries, jasmine and sandalwood, but I really smell a cozy almost chocolate smell that makes me feel sassy.

I love that it’s tiny, but packs a punch as it lasts and lasts and lasts.

And fine, I’ll give pheremones some props as one night last week when I wore it, I *did* end up in bed with a yummy new man, having all sorts of fun ’til the wee hours of the morning when wearing it … so …. Fine. You win THIS round, science.

Why Playground? Why Now?

When I first had the idea for Playground around the end of last summer, I had a lot more time on my hands. I had quit my job a few months prior to finish working on my non-monogamy guide book – which I promise to finish sooooon – and had seemingly all the time in the world to plan a small sexuality conference. I had plenty of event experience from my time as a wedding planner and working for a digital media events company, now I just needed to branch out from behind my laptop screen and meet the people that would fill my stage.

I was noticing more and more sexuality / sex / relationship based events on Twitter, happening all over the States and found myself baffled at why we here in Toronto didn’t really have any events that could be considered all-inclusive. I envied the population size of America and how it seemed so easy to fill an event space with sex-positive folk from multiple backgrounds. But why should a smaller population mean that we couldn’t have open talks about sexuality for all?

It didn’t and so Playground was born.

As I was beginning to plan and form an advisory team, I was excited to watch the plans for the very successful Momentum 2011 in Washington, D.C. take shape. I was beginning to see and read about the types of discussions that people were interested in having around sex, sexuality and relationships and wanted to continue that dialogue here. Toronto is a wonderfully sex-positive, culturally diverse city where there is an event to be found for every interest. So why the need for this event? And why me?

I’m not under any false impressions; I’m but an up and comer on the sex-positive scene, but in between my full time job in digital media, life coaching and workshop teaching I am throwing myself into this plan. As someone who dabbles a little bit here and there in many sex-positive communities, I wanted to create a space for others like me. Others who want to engage in dialogue and learn something new (or something old!) from some of the best names in the industry.

After meeting many of these amazing educators at Momentum this past April, I am thrilled to be bringing the conversation to Toronto this November. I hope that you are as excited as I am to have the walls of the Gladstone Hotel busting at the seams with so much sex-positive goodness!

Bountiful leaders charged with polygamy

Is there humor in the fact that these polygamists lived in a town called Bountiful?

On Wednesday around 7:45 a.m., eight plainclothes RCMP officers in unmarked cars drove up to the homes of polygamous leaders Winston Blackmore and James Oler in southeastern British Columbia.

They arrested Blackmore, 52, and Oler, 44, and charged them with the criminal offence of practising polygamy. It may not be the first time that anyone in Canada has been charged with polygamy. But it is definitely the first time anyone has been charged since the 1800s.

Documentary Series looking for religious polyamorist

Anyone who knows me well knows religion and I? We don’t mesh very well together. That being said, it’s still a topic I find terribly interesting as so much of the entire world’s viewpoint finds a basis in it.

Recently I was contacted by a reseacher from Vision TV looking for the personal story of someone who is in a polyamorous relationship but has conflicting feelings because of their religion.

If this might be you, or someone you know, here’s the info you need:
